When should I eat protein for muscle growth?
Total daily protein matters more than precise timing. Research suggests about 0.4 g of protein per kg of body weight per meal, spread across roughly three to five meals a day, best stimulates muscle protein synthesis compared with one giant serving at night. Eating protein within a few hours after training supports recovery, but the often-cited '30-minute anabolic window' is less critical than consistency across the whole day. Meeting your daily total is the most important factor.
How much protein per meal is ideal?
